[They've met before.
Years ago at a Malus gathering. It's the duty of every school to present their best and brightest to live up to as examples and the Stone family is no exception. On the outside world they're doctors, lawyers, teachers, pastors, brothers, sisters, friends, here they are the servants of the blood, the last of the old world whose battle kept the monsters in check.
Until now. Does Bonum regret what it has done? Revealing magic for all the world to see and triggering the curse that curled like a vengeful snake in the Stone Bloodline? He cannot say. He no longer concerns himself with the doings of the white, he has a very specific mission at hand.
The wolf girl and the shadow boy. Poetic. Mysterious. She ran with him, the two of them swearing off the shackles of either school.
Yet he knows. Oh yes. He knows the boy is being called. Even as he was. That the blood the five original families gave to the altar millennia ago sings to him.
It's that which makes him appeal to his reason. They're close enough to LA that he can sense them, or at least him. It's easy enough to reach out to him psychically and pull him into a spell of listening. A Malus trained spell. One of the most ancient secrets of their order.
He'll ignore the shock, the screaming, banish whatever spirits the boy can conjure - whoever calls the other must listen. That is the law. By the time the boy's tantrums, the boy's desperate magics have silenced he turns to face him. In reality his features have begun to warp. A pair of horns has appeared from his forhead, followed by a second pair.
Here he looks desperately inhuman.]
Didn't your instructors teach you how a spell of listening is supposed to go?
